This research paper covers the dynamics of hand-knitting cluster at Bisht Gaon, Dehradun. Broadly it has two parts which can be categorized as craft study and craft waste management.

On basis of understanding functioning of the cluster by ethnographic research and field visits, I have worked on craft’s waste management area of yarn fiber wastage, considering all other environmental aspects in frame. A sustainable system has been designed which can be applied for upcycling of knitting craft waste.
